Horray for MS with their super do-it-all media player that fannies about from before it's even installed! I don't generally like my software to connect to the net of its own accord and this player seems to be more interested in doing so than player my MEDIA! It tries to take over your system and has a habit of wrestling far too much RAM for whatever it does. Much better is VLC which is a light video player that actually supports a decent number of formats.
Skins are pretty awful and well there isn't anything new worth writing home about. I reckon the best way to sum up would be "avoid like the plague".

Incessantly tries to connect to the net
Doesn't support enough formats
Terrible installation
